Curing the world from homosexuality: Donnie Davis

Today I heard something quite unbelievable on the radio. It was so unbelievable that it sounded grotesque and even a bit funny in the beginning. After some time it stopped being funny, though.

The radio man (Radio FM4, Stuart Freeman) was reading aloud a list of "gay bands" he had found on the internet. "Gay", of course in the meaning of "homosexual" with a negative connotation and not in the sense of the old English word "gay" for "merry" or "happily excited". The list contained bands who are homosexuals themselves or - now listen to that carefully - whose music causes other people to become homosexuals.

One of the most dangerous ways homosexuality invades family life is through popular music. Parents should keep careful watch over their children's listening habits, especially in this Internet Age of MP3 piracy.

Word up, Donnie. Have a look a his website if you have some time left, it is worthwile. Among the bands which you should protect your children from are names like

The Scissor Sisters (sure?)
Ghostface Killah
Eagles of Death Metal
Interpol
The Doors
Marylin Manson
Metallica
The Rolling Stones
David Bowie
Jay-Z
Madonna
Nirvana
Aracade Fire
Elton John
Lou Reed
Frank Sinatra
Bright Eyes

and many many more. Go and have a look at it, I'm sure your favourite band is there as well.
If I look at that list, I must admit that it comes very near to my personal all-time greatest hits selection. Oh my god, I am lost.

Leaving bullshit aside, I think this is a very dangerous development. I am talking of people like Donnie Davis who preach hate in the name of somebody (god?) and who are becoming increasingly aggressive and influential. Their influence in politics is giving me the creeps, honestly.

It is true that there is some progress towards full civil rights for homosexuals in certain countries. This gives a little hope, although the impact which populism a la Donnie has, is devastating.

Ok, so what's up next? We could listen to some "gay music" for a start. From what I can see, "gay music" rocks.

Said something, Donnie?

Note: I am not an English native speaker. I am not sure if I used the terms "homosexuals", "homosexual" or "homosexual couples" in a way that is politcally correct. Any transgressions are not intended and purely based on my mistake.

you know what I think.. let gays be gays and leave them to their things.. I mean, why prosecute them and ridicule them and mock them and what-not?

In Iraq, gays, lesbians, TGs and bisexuals are being hunted down like never before.. there's not a bit of tolerance to what they've got to say.. Islam forbids homosexuality but doesn't punish ALL homosexuals with the death penalty..

I don't agree with homosexuality but, if there weren't more important issues to address, I would be one of their most ardent defenders.. it's pathetic how we've lost all sense of reason..

by the way, I really do think some music makes its listeners turn gay.. like Scissor Sisters of course.. those who like Brian Moloko (placebo) are also prone to gay inclinations.. emm.. what else.. The Kooks and Spooks and Strokes and what-nots.. them tight-jeans people who think they're still in 1962.. but Kurt Kobain was never gay.. neither was Jay-Z.. i mean, which gay guy would date Beyonce?!

Regards

I absolutely agree with you, of course. In my view homosexuality is not an issue of discussion, where you can agree, disagree, argue and convince somebody. In my opinion this is absolute privacy, or, in other words, the freedom to choose.

I believe also that there is music which could foster an inclination towards homosexuality. It's a simple matter of socialization, with who and what you have contact.
I would - for example - believe somebody who sustained that (adopted) children of gay couples are very likely to become gay themselves.
You know, it's all relative: being the child of a gay couple could be far better than being the kid of Donny "we don't need no water let the motherf***** burn" Davis.
But this is a more complex issue, I do not want to enter that now. Was just hypothesising.
